Growing Up So Fast
Brooke has enjoyed peeling the eggs that we hard-boiled and dyed for Easter. She also gets a little bowl and mashes the egg up and then offers it to me or Dallas.
One day I declined the egg. Brooke took it back to the kitchen and was busy for a long time. I was happy to have a few moments to myself so I didn’t bother her.
When I finally went into the kitchen to see what she was up to, I saw she had crumbled the egg into a million little pieces. She had sprinkled these pieces all over the kitchen floor. She was “feeding the birds”. It’s funny that she has somehow picked up on the fact that birds eat small, round things that are scattered about…and yet, she hasn’t picked up on the fact that THERE ARE NO BIRDS IN OUR HOUSE.
In other news, Caroline, our nine-month old baby, can finally roll over! And she can crawl! And today she even pulled herself up to standing! It was a big week as far as developmental milestones are concerned.
Caroline’s also been working hard on growing some hair. One day I decided it was time to put a bow in it.
She looks so cute before her nap.
But after her nap, she looked like this…
…and she was chewing on the rubber band that I had used to secure her hair. Yikes! No more hair accessories for her at nap time.
Baby Caroline Loves Babies
Caroline really loves Brooke’s little baby doll. She just giggles and giggles when she sees the doll.

It’s a Boy!
Just kidding. It was too early to tell the gender.
Kidding, kidding, kidding. I’m not pregnant–though everything else in my last post was true.
I have been nauseous for days. It’s been horrible. I have felt like I’m on the verge of throwing up all the time.
I was up all of Tuesday night groaning in pain. That prompted me to call the doctor.
The doctor did suspect a pregnancy (though I did not). She sent me for blood work to check for that and for a stomach virus.
The blood work came back normal, so the doctor ordered an ultrasound to check for internal problems. I had the ultrasound today and it came back normal. I am an unsolved mystery. Luckily, the nausea is subsiding and the past couple of days I’ve started to feel like a normal human being again.
Let’s hope I’m better. I’m sick of writing blog posts about us being sick!
April Fools?
I’ve been feeling nauseous for over a week. The past couple of days it’s been so bad that pretty much all I do is moan on the couch. I finally went to the doctor yesterday.
After explaining my symptoms, the first thing the doctor said was, “Are you pregnant?”
I tried to explain that I was sure I wasn’t pregnant and that both times I was pregnant, I was never nauseous.
“Let’s just do a pregnancy test anyway.”
She sent me on my way to get some blood work done.
Today a nurse called from the office. She said the blood reports came back and the doctor would like me to go in tomorrow for an ultrasound.
Should I start taking votes? Boy or girl?
