Caroline’s Celebration

Caroline had a birthday and is now FIVE years old.  What a big girl!

Our fun-filled day started with presents:

Then we headed to Hill Air Force Base to see the air show:

We met up with my sister.  She texted me on the way over asking if I had brought ear plugs for my kids.  The thought had never crossed my mind.  I told her no and said I didn’t think we’d need any.

Oops.

I started to get the feeling we might want ear plugs when I saw lots of people wearing them.

Then I noticed a lot of other people wearing noise-blocking headphones.

Then the fighter jets took to the skies and the kids freaked out:

Poor Madison was so scared by the sound she started shaking uncontrollably and screaming.  We did our best to cover our ears every time those jets made a pass and vowed to remember our ear plugs next time.

After the air show we went to my sister’s house for pizza and cake.

Just kidding.  Jeff was so good to hold Madison for a long while and she was happy and content the whole time.  Then we started packing up to go and I went to get Madison and then realized I should have taken a picture of Jeff holding her so I ran off to get my camera.  Apparently Madison didn’t enjoy my abandoning her, thus the only picture we have looks like one where Jeff is torturing her.

Our fun didn’t end there!  Our neighborhood was hosting a huge party that evening.  We were thrilled to call their party Caroline’s birthday party.

We were all completely exhausted from being in the sun all day that we came home and went right to sleep.  What a fun birthday for our little Caroline!

 

State of the Blog Address

Hello all my faithful GoldenGrams readers!  We had a blog tragedy.  The details are boring and too technical for my understanding so I won’t outline everything that happened except to say that we nearly lost the last six months’ worth of posts.  Luckily Dallas was able to piece together those entries and repost them, but we sadly lost every comment made during that time and now none of the links work properly and the formatting is sometimes wonky.  Boo.  Those of you who subscribe to our blog through email probably noticed you got an email with a million posts in it which you had already seen.  That’s why.  I think we’re back on track so hopefully we can put this unfortunate incident behind us and continue with steadfastness and a hope that this blog will never find itself in such dire circumstances again.

Also, I am wanting to turn this blog into a book of memories for our family.  We didn’t really start blogging full force until Brooke was several months old so I may be adding posts that are years old and back-dating them.  I think if you subscribe through email you might get those.  Sorry if it’s confusing to read posts that show Brooke as a newborn.  Then again, I may never get around to doing this in which case, kindly disregard this entire paragraph.
