Gourmet Hot Dogs
My brothers and their wives and children (where applicable) came to town to spend an early Thanksgiving with the Utahns of the family (or at least, the Utahns that were willing to drive to Salt Lake to see them).
In recent years Abe has become quite the chef. He decided to treat us all to gourmet hot dogs while he was here. These were jumbo hot dogs stuffed with cheese, sauteed onions, condiments, and wrapped with bacon. I like to call them “A Heart Attack in a Bun.”
I wasn’t going to have any because I was getting over the flu. (Yes, I got the stomach flu earlier that week–what else is new.) However, the scent of grilled grease dogs overpowered me and I decided to give them a try.
I didn’t regret it right away. In fact, they were delicious. However, I awoke at about 2 in the morning wanting to die.
Next time I’m faced with the option of eating a gourmet hot dog, I think I’ll have to pass. No offense, Abe.
