Much Anticipated Halloween Pictures

Every year my mom’s side of the family gets together for a Halloween dinner.  Some of us get more into dressing up than others, as you will see, but we all have a great time nonetheless.

Without further ado–Halloween 2008!

Can you guess who we are?

No, Dallas is not a wall.  Here’s another pose in case you still don’t get it:

Get it now? He’s the yellow-brick road!  And yes, Brooke is a ballerina, but not just any ballerina.  She’s the ballerina munchkin.  Grandma Allen gave her the tutu and we had to put it to good use!

These next pictures are of my extended family so many of you will not know who they are.  Sorry.  Just enjoy the costumes.

Bryce.  It may appear that he’s not in costume, but turns out, the day before he went to a store to get a game for his Wii.  At the store, the employees were all wearing black t-shirts and giving them away for free.  Bryce took one and used it to dress up as one of the employees of that store.

Those are all the pictures we took.  I just realized that we didn’t even take any of my parents.  Oops.

We had a fun Halloween!

The Zoo

Last week on Dallas’s day off, we took advantage of the great weather and went to the zoo.  We had a fun time looking at the animals.  However, I was not a very good photographer.  Most of the pictures I took are downright lame.  Don’t believe me?  Fine, I’ll post some…but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This was the very first picture of the day.  This is actually a good one.  Dallas is smiling his dazzling smile, and Brooke is almost looking at the camera.  All in all, not bad.  Let’s try one with animals.

Here’s where it starts to go downhill.  There’s a nice shot of an elephant, and that dark blob in the foreground is Dallas and Brooke.

Brooke’s favorite animal to look at were the meerkats.  There was a little meerkat that was going crazy running all around in his enclosure.  Brooke was mesmorized.  I pulled out my camera to get a great shot of Brooke admiring the meerkat.  Instead I got Brooke’s backside and the meerkat is completely covered up by her body.

At the very end of the day I was able to get a shot of a couple of prairie dogs.  I think I’ll sell this picture to National Geographic:

Raspberry Picking

A couple of weeks ago our friends invited us to go pick some raspberries on a family farm.  It was so much fun!  Brooke didn’t like being strapped in her stroller, but everyone else had a great time.

Here is a picture of Mandy striking a pose on the far left and Isaac and Rachael in the middle.

This is what Dallas was busy doing while the womenfolk were planning which day to make jam from our berries.  (The red light is a frame in case you couldn’t tell…)

And look at how domestic I am!  I made jam!  And I can balance it on my head!  It was my first time canning anything.  It was a little daunting, but luckily Rachael and Mandy knew what they were doing.

Today in Golden Family History

This may or may not be considered Golden family history because we weren’t married at the time.

Rebecca and I went down to Las Vegas with Rebecca’s family for the weekend.  We went down to see a BYU football game.  We had a great time doing all of the fun family friendly things Vegas has to offer. And of course we had nonstop buffets.

BYU Commercial

Brigham Young University had a contest for the upcoming football season to make a 30 second commercial about BYU winning the Mountain West Conference Championship for the third year in a row.  Rebecca and I participated by creating our own commercials.  The winner gets his or her commercial played on the JumboTron during the first game. Unfortunately, we didn’t win even though our videos were awesome.  Oh well, you can’t win them all.  Well, we broke down and published the videos on Youtube for the whole world to search for and watch.
