The last time I posted a bunch of random pictures we got great feedback (and by that I mean my mom said she liked the pictures) so here we go again!

Hooray for Moms

My mom watched the kids for a while today while Dallas and I went to the temple together.  It was a lovely afternoon.  For us at least.

Upon returning, my mom related that the kids had been pretty good, except Spencer did a horrible job eating.  He persisted in spitting his food everywhere and laughing about it.  I chuckled a bit imagining the scene.  Perhaps I was secretly glad my mom was the one who had to deal with this instead of me.

However, a few hours later when I was trying to feed Spencer, he very kindly obliged in illustrating exactly what my mother was talking about.  And this time I was not laughing.  Each bite brought a shower of food arcing through the air.  My scolding only succeeding in causing Spencer to laugh uncontrollably.

So basically I’m feeling the urge to thank my mom once again for watching the kids tonight and dealing with that mess.  Maybe he’ll be better next time you watch him…assuming you agree to a next time…

 

Eight Months

Spencer is eight months old.  Eight months!  Can you believe it?  I can’t.  Mostly because this means I’ve gone eight entire months waking up one, two, three, four, ten, twelve, twenty times at night.

The past week we decided sleep training was in order.

Spencer had made very little progress until last night.  Ladies and gentlemen, Spencer slept from about 9PM to 6:00AM.  I think he would have slept longer, but that’s when Dallas gets up and I think Dallas’s alarm woke him.

I’m hoping this wasn’t just a fluke because the thought of sleeping for longer than four hours at a time two nights in a row makes me giddy.

In other developmental news, he’s getting three teeth all on the top.  Plus, he learned how to say ma ma which is really cute.  He loves splashing in the bath and giving Dallas hugs when he comes home from work.
